Gaming Licenses in Malta

How to incorporate a company in Malta. Incorporation or formation of Maltese companies.

Gaming License

This is the best jurisdiction in Europe to obtain a license under the Remote Gaming Regulator, issued following the Act on Lotteries and other games of 2001.

malta

The regulatory body in Malta responsible for the supervision of remote gaming is the Lotteries and Gaming Authority (LGA).

There are 4 types of licenses available.

  • for operators who manage their own risk
  • for operators who handle third party betting (billiard betting, premium betting)
  • for operators who charge a commission for promoting gambling (Poker networks, for example)
  • for operators with software who want to offer management and hosting services

We can manage the application. There are three stages:

  • We need to present evidence that the applicant is fit for the company’s integrity and competition of the people involved.
  • Then we need a “letter of intent” issued by the LGA, this can take about eight weeks, this allows you to start the game long-distance.
  • Afterwards there is an audit and a full license is granted. This may take about six months.
