The Yorkshire Store

Stokesley in December 2008.

We have been very lucky in the shops aand a hotel) that have kindly stocked the book. In Stokesley the shops are: Style, the Yorkshire Store, the Stokesley Gallery and Joe Cornish Gallery.

Three of the editors of The Stokesley Scene Collection: Life in a Yorkshire Market Town were on hand to sign copies of their book in Stokesley on Saturday, 6th December 2008. The editors, Peter Hallworth, Toby Brehm and Eric Sandelands were on hand at different times in both The Yorkshire Store and Style, both key stockists of the book.

They were joined during the course of the day by Peter West who had
contributed a moving poem about his home town written by his father John West on a D-Day landing craft half-way to France. They were also able to meet Margaret Smith who appears in the book in a feature on the Women's Institute (WI) in the town, its history and its vibrant current activities.

According to Peter Hallworth, "We would like to thank everyone from The Yorkshire Store and Style who looked after us so well and made us feel so welcome and at home. It was also a pleasure to meet so many people including old friends who turned out to buy a copy of the book and to meet with us."
